I’m done. I. am. Done.
There are some days when I’ve had enough and I just want to quit.
Days when I can’t referee another fight between my kids or wash & dry another dish or fold another pair of underwear.
Days when I can’t count another calorie or analyze another bite of food.
Days when I can’t be positive no matter how hard I try.
Do you ever have those? Sure you do. Everyone has them.
No matter how dedicated & committed you are.
No matter how far you’ve come.
No matter how hard you try.
Those days when you just want to give it all up and quit will find you.
Something will go wrong.
Someone will say something that rubs you the wrong way.
Some part of your life will leave you feeling out of control and you’ll slip.
It happens. So now what?
First things first – be honest with yourself. How have you been feeling? Are you getting enough rest? Are you eating right? Your physical state plays into your emotional & mental state of well-being.
Go easy on yourself. Don’t fall in the trap of piling on the guilt. Acknowledge that these things happen to everyone.
Let someone in and share your struggles. Be honest. You will likely find that others have stories and hurts similar to yours. And always remember that God uses those strands of our stories to connect us.
Lastly, ask for help. Your heavenly Father knows that you struggle. He knows the number of hairs on your head and everything that is going on inside you. You may not see His help in the way or timing that you would like.
Just because you feel like throwing in the towel and quitting, does not mean you are a quitter. It means that you’re human. Fallible and flawed. Just remember that you’ll never find perfection on this side of Heaven.
And tomorrow is a new day!
